Roasted Cone Papad Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4-5 papads

Instructions:

  1. First of all place a papad on a flat surface then cut it into half pieces.
  2. Heat the tawa or flat pan on medium flame.
  3. Place the one of the piece of papad on the hot tawa and press it gently.
  4. Allow the papad to cook for 20-30 seconds or until it starts to puff up and turns slightly brown.
  5. Now lift the papad from one end and flip it over to the other side with the help of flat spatula.
  6. Cook the papad for another 20-30 seconds or until it becomes crispy and golden brown.
  7. Remove the papad from the tawa and roll the half cooked papad into a cone shape by bringing two opposite corners together.
  8. Repeat the process with the remaining papads.
  9. Your cone of roasted papad is now ready to serve. You can fill it with chana chaat or your favorite ingredients such as macroni, pasta or chowmein.

Tips and Tricks:

  • Use a non-stick tawa or pan for easy cooking and to avoid sticking.
  • Make sure the tawa is heated properly before placing the papads on it. A hot tawa will help the papads cook evenly and quickly.
  • Be careful while flipping the papads as they can break easily. Use the flat spatula to lift the papad gently and flip it over.
  • You can experiment with different seasonings and fillings to suit your taste.
  • Don't fill the cones too much as they might become difficult to eat. Keep it simple and easy to handle.
  • Serve the roasted cone papads immediately as they tend to become soggy after a while.
