Crispy Snacks
Potato-Semolina Snacks Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 tsp oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 2 chopped green chilies
- Pinch of black pepper
- 1 tsp chili flakes
- 2 cups water
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup semolina
- 2 tsp refined oil (for hands)
- 2 grated potatoes
- Fresh coriander leaves
- Oil for deep frying
- Sauce for serving
Instructions:
- Warm up 2 teaspoons of oil in a pan on medium heat.
- Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, chopped green chilies, black pepper, and chili flakes. Cook until the spices give off their fragrance.
- Pour in 2 cups of water and add salt to taste. Let the mixture to be boil.
- Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat to low and gradually add 1 cup of semolina, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
- Mix well until the semolina absorbs the water and forms a thick mixture.
- Switch off the stove and allow the mixture to cool slightly.
- Apply 2 tsp of refined oil on your hands to prevent sticking, and then add grated potatoes and fresh coriander leaves to the semolina mixture. Combine everything thoroughly.
- Now, take a portion and shape it into rolls. Cut the rolls into desired shapes for frying.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or a pan for deep frying.
- Carefully fry these snacks until they turn golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the snacks from the oil and place them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
- Serve the potato-semolina snacks hot with your favorite sauce.
