Recipe Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients:

Instructions:

Follow the given instructions to marinate the chicken at home properly.

1. Prepare the Chicken:

  • Prepare the chicken by thoroughly washing and cleaning the pieces and dry them off completely afterwards.
  • Using a fork or a knife, make some piercings or small cuts in the 750g of chicken to help it absorb the marinade better, then set aside.

2. Make the Marinade Masala:

  • For the marinade, combine 1/2 cup of yogurt in a mixing bowl with 1 tablespoon of oil, 2 teaspoons of ginger garlic paste, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon powder, 2 teaspoons of black pepper, and salt according to your taste preference.
  • If you like a bit more heat and flavor, feel free to add 1 teaspoon of chili flakes and 1 teaspoon of kasuri methi powder optionally.

3. Make a Smooth Paste:

  • With the help of a beater, thoroughly mix the yogurt and spices together until the mixture becomes a smooth and fine paste; this usually takes about 2-3 minutes.

4. Give the Red Colour and Tangy Taste:

  • Next, stir in a pinch of red food coloring and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice to the spice blend, ensuring everything is well combined.

5. Add the Chicken Pieces:

  • Add the chicken pieces to the bowl, using your hands to make sure each piece is evenly coated with the marinade masala.

6. Marinate the Chicken:

  • Cover the bowl and let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature or ideally for 6 hours in the refrigerator for deeper flavor.
  • This process allows the flavors to deeply infuse into the chicken, making it flavorful and juicy before cooking.

So, you see how easy it is to marinate chicken.
